Mosh Pit streak continues
JHU team takes top prize for sixth time in regional business plan contest


The four sophomores who sold the judges on their plan to market an all-in-one catheterization syringe: Jeffrey Choi, Stephanie Huang, Stephen Chen and Jason Hsu. All are biomedical engineering majors.

A team of four Johns Hopkins undergraduates used a concept for an all-in-one syringe to storm to victory in the 2007 Mosh Pit, billed as the "world's coolest business plan competition."

Major gift to JHM honors Sheikh Zayed
Johns Hopkins officials have announced a significant financial commitment to Johns Hopkins Medicine from His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates. Most of the gift, made in honor of Sheikh Khalifa's late father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, will support construction of The Johns Hopkins Hospital's new cardiovascular and critical care tower, currently under construction on the East Baltimore campus.

CCP, Center for Global Health lead team in award
Jane Bertrand, director of the Center for Communication Programs, and Thomas Quinn, director of the Center for Global Health, have announced that Johns Hopkins has won a five-year award from the U.S. Agency for International Development for its Project SEARCH — Supporting Evaluation and Research to Combat HIV/AIDS.
