Health Awareness
Day at Homewood

More than 700 staff and faculty took advantage of free health care screenings conducted June 11 at the Glass Pavilion on the Homewood campus, courtesy of Occupational Health Services, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and the Office of Benefits Administration.

"We'd like to thank all the faculty and staff that helped to make this a success," said Todd Donovan, who helped coordinate the event for Occupational Health Services. "We hope that it raised awareness of current health issues, which busy people sometimes overlook."

Besides blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings, massage and five-minute relaxation sessions, information on a variety of health issues was available at the booths. Door prizes, such as books on healthy cooking, a kitchen fire extinguisher and athletic gear, complemented the emphasis on health awareness.
