President schedules
times to talk with students University President William R. Brody plans to hold office hours for students on 20 afternoons during the 1997-98 academic year. Students may sign up for a 15-minute appointment during any office hour by contacting the president's office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. The president's office is at 242 Garland Hall, Homewood. The phone number is 410-516-8068. Students making appointments will be asked to leave their name, class year or department, phone number and the topics they wish to discuss. Office hours will be held:
Red Cross Blood Drive comes to Homewood The first Red Cross Blood Drive of the 1997-98 academic year is scheduled in the Glass Pavilion in Levering Hall on the Homewood campus for Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to sign up in advance to help the Red Cross plan their staffing needs and to cut down on possible waiting time for donors. To sign up as a donor or for more information, call Peggy Jones, at 410-516-8039.

Correction In the article on the search for the new dean of the Whiting School of Engineering, which appeared in the Aug. 18 issue of The Gazette, Joseph Katz should have been identified as professor of mechanical engineering, Poul V. Lade as chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering and Michael Paulaitis as chairman of the Department of Chemical Engineering. The Gazette regrets the error.
