Weather and the Arts and Sciences/Engineering Undergraduate
Diploma Award Ceremony
If it becomes necessary to cancel or curtail this ceremony, announcements
will be made here
and on the Johns Hopkins Weather Emergency Line at 410-516-7781. If
possible, the announcement will be made by noon.
In the event of drizzle or light rain, the ceremony will be held as
planned. Rain ponchos will be distributed to the graduates and guests.
Guests are also invited to use umbrellas.
If the ceremony is canceled due to more severe weather, graduates are
invited to pick up their diplomas in the Goldfarb Gymnasium of the Newton
H. White Athletic Center at any time between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. President
Brody, the deans, and faculty and staff will be on hand next door in the
Robert Scott Gymnasium of the Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center to greet
graduates and guests.
In the event that suddenly arising weather conditions make it unsafe to
continue the ceremony once it has begun, the ceremony may be adjourned. If
this should occur, graduates may go immediately to the Goldfarb Gymnasium
of the Newton H. White Athletic Center to pick up ther diplomas.Guests are
invited to meet graduates next door in the Robert Scott Gymnasium of the
Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center. President Brody, the deans, and
faculty and staff will be on hand there to greet graduates and guests.
