News Release
Michael Rosman, an expert practitioner of 'klutz' and slapstick humor, will present his "Amazing Feats of Comedy," at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Shriver Hall on The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles Street in Baltimore. Rosman performs a unique combination of comic tricks and stunts. Whether juggling chainsaws, riding giant unicycles, catapulting fruit into a blender strapped to his head, or performing unusual card tricks, he keeps audiences enthralled by blending unique illusions with family-friendly humor. As a teenager living in Randallstown, Md., Rosman became fascinated with making people laugh, particularly during his frequent trips to see street performers at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. After earning a bachelor's degree in finance in 1988 from the University of Delaware, he traveled through Europe as a street performer. Rosman returned to America to attend the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College, where he honed performance skills like juggling and tightrope walking. In 1996, Rosman was artist-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution's Discovery Theatre. He received the Maryland State Individual Artist Award in 1998 and was an invited performer at the Kennedy Space Center in Washington, D.C. Besides shows in several American cities, he has also performed in Amsterdam, Berlin, Nagasaki, and Tokyo. This performance is part of the Wednesday Noon Series presented by The Johns Hopkins University Office of Special Events, now in its 37th season of cultural programming on the Homewood campus. Admission is free. For further information, call the Office of Special Events at 410-516-7157.
