Carriage House Holiday Sale to Be Held at
Evergreen House

Escape the ordinary shopping experience and discover one-of-a-kind gifts during the Carriage House Holiday Sale Friday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 23, at Evergreen House, 4545 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Holiday shoppers will find welcome relief from the season's hustle and bustle in Evergreen's Carriage House, which will be stocked with unusual merchandise from 20 mid-Atlantic area museums and non-profit shops, including the American Dime Museum, American Visionary Art Museum, B&O Railroad Museum, Babe Ruth Birthplace & Museum, Baltimore Shakespeare Festival, Baltimore Streetcar Museum, Battleship New Jersey, Chester County Historical Society, Delaware Museum of Natural History, Evergreen House, the Flag House & Star-Spangled Banner Museum, Hagley Museum & Library, Hampton National Historic Site, Historical Society of Carroll County, Historical Society of Delaware, Homewood House Museum, the Johns Hopkins University Press, Maryland Historical Society, Mount Clare Museum House and the Supreme Court Historical Society. Don't expect the predictable holiday inventory offered in chain stores. The Carriage House Holiday Sale offers shoppers the opportunity to put imagination and fun back into holiday shopping through the wide variety of extraordinary holiday gifts for everyone on their list, from clothing and toys, to books and art works. During the sale, the Johns Hopkins University Press will host three book signings in the Carriage House. Herbert H. Harwood Jr. will be signing Royal Blue Line: The Classic B&O Train Between Washington and New York and Baltimore Streetcars: The Postwar Years, from noon to 2 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 21. Tristan Davies of Johns Hopkins University's Writing Seminars program will be signing Cake, his debut collection of short stories, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. Elise Hancock will sign her book Ideas into Words: Mastering the Craft of Science Writing, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. The Carriage House Holiday Sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. Admission is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Lunch and snacks will be available daily as well as plenty of free parking.
