Media Advisory
District 20's new project-based learning approach will be showcased through the display of multi-disciplinary projects by approximately 120 elementary, middle and high school students. Each teacher has selected one student to represent the class by sharing his or her project. Family members are encouraged to attend the event to chat with teachers and students about their projects and displays. Besides applauding hard work of students and teachers, the science fair format will also celebrate the success of the district's newly implemented TeamTech Learning System, a project-based teaching method born out of partnership with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Technology in Education (CTE). The program uses technology and teamwork on long-term projects to help students acquire the world- of-work skills that are essential for success in higher education and 21st century careers. Students work in teams on projects that reach into all of their classes, bringing teachers together to coordinate their lesson plans. For almost 20 years, CTE has provided training, resources and electronic tools to help educators integrate technology into teaching and learning, ultimately improving the educational experience for all students.
