Students' Device Allows ICU Patients to Get
Back on Their Feet

The faculty sponsor for the ICU MOVER design project was physician Dale Needham, an assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

During his senior year as a biomedical engineering major, Joshua Lerman of Delray Beach, Fla., led the Johns Hopkins student team that designed and built the ICU MOVER. In the fall, he will enter University of California, San Diego, to pursue a doctorate in bioinformatics and systems biology.
