Johns Hopkins University and Montgomery County Public Schools are offering professionals with no teaching experience an opportunity to earn Maryland special education certification. They will host an information session beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, to describe the Professional Immersion Special Education Master of Science (ProSEMS) program, which allows those with bachelor's degrees to earn a master's degree in special education. While studying at Johns Hopkins, ProSEMS participants will work in Montgomery County classrooms with guidance from experienced educators. The program will begin in late August and requires a full-time commitment beginning in January 2004. The application deadline is June 30.
