Ok, back to the Queen statue. This shows the area of the queen's discovery, in the top of the photograph.

Chuck, Betsy and Kent with Queen Statue   Detail of Surface of Statue

We have been informed that the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass, will pay us a visit to see the statue in person and release its discovery to the media. So Betsy and Chuck consult with Kent who is busy doing some cleaning on the surface of the statue. And here's the beautiful cleaned surface with the wig and fillets of the queen, as well as the names of Amenhotep III very readable.

Preparing Descriptionof the Find for the Egyptian Media

Just before Dr. Hawass's arrival, Betsy, Ibrahim Suleiman, General Director of Karnak , and Ahmed Araby, the Mut expedition Inspector, write a brief description of the statue and its find place in order to properly inform the Egyptian media.
