UPS' Kelly Visits Campus

UPS CEO: School of Professional Studies in Business and Education interim Dean Ralph Fessler chats with James P. (Jim) Kelly, chairman and chief executive officer of United Parcel Service, at a reception March 2 prior to Kelly's appearance before a packed audience in Bloomberg's Schafler Auditorium. Kelly, a onetime UPS package delivery driver, rose through the ranks to become head of the multibillion-dollar firm. Kelly's appearance, sponsored by SPSBE's Division of Undergraduate Studies and SPSBE Alumni Relations, featured a 45-minute presentation by Kelly titled "The Living, Breathing Brand: The Human Side of Competitive Advantage." It highlighted UPS's philosophy for training employees, inspiring their devotion to customer service and retaining their loyalty.
