Major Awards to Graduates

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

DAAD

To support graduate study or research in Germany. All disciplines are eligible except medicine, dentistry and pharmacy. The stipend is sufficient to meet normal expenses and air fare.

Fulbright

To support a well-defined project of research in any one of over 70 foreign countries. Stipend covers normal expenses and air fare. (Read the article on this year's winners in this issue.)

Goldwater Award

For students in science, math or engineering. The one- and two-year scholarships cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per year.

Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts at The Johns Hopkins University

A $1,500 prize awarded annually to the graduating senior or fourth-year medical student who has demonstrated excellence in the arts while studying at Hopkins.

Taka Ariga

President's Commendation for Achievement in the Arts at The Johns Hopkins University

Commendation honoring a graduating senior who has contributed to the arts at Homewood.

Drew Meyer

The Florence "Meg" Walsh SDS Leadership Award

A stipend of $20,000 for a postgraduate year of travel and independent study abroad, given by the university's Second Decade Society to a graduating senior from the School of Arts and Sciences.
