Greening of Hopkins Conference Set for November

An all-day conference called "The Greening of Johns Hopkins: Present and Future" will be held on Monday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Shriver Hall, Homewood campus. President William R. Brody will open the event.

David Orr, chairman of the Environmental Studies Program at Oberlin College, will give the keynote address. Also on the agenda are reports on current green practices at Hopkins and breakout sessions on topics for future endeavors, such as energy efficiency, transportation and recycling. Robert S. Lawrence, Edyth Schoenrich Professor of Preventive Medicine at the School of Public Health and acting director of the JHU Greening Initiative, will moderate the event.
