Well-known Journalists to Talk at Homewood on Presidential Elections

Journalist and presidential adviser David Gergen kicks off a three-part series called "Power, Politics and the Presidential Elections" at the Homewood campus on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. in Shriver Hall. Following his talk, participants can remain in Shriver to view the evening's third presidential debate, which Gergen will be analyzing later that night on ABC's Nightline. Autographed copies of Gergen's new book, Eyewitness to Power: Essence of Leadership, Nixon to Clinton, will be available.

CBS chief Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer, who has covered every presidential debate since 1972, will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. in Shriver Hall.

Al Gore's and George W. Bush's biographers--Pulitizer Prize- winning correspondent David Maraniss of the Washington Post and Bill Minutaglio of the Dallas Morning News--will round out the series on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. in Shriver Hall.
