Toks Fashola and the Vermont 100-Mile Endurance Run

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

Back in Baltimore on Monday, Toks Fashola reports from her CSOS office that she "unofficially finished" the Vermont 100-Mile Endurance Run -- meaning she completed the race, but not under the 30-hour cutoff point. Her final time was 31 hours and 14 minutes.

"Our interview [in The Gazette] kept me going. Really. Because I had to finish," she says. "Normally I don't tell people about my races, but this time I told plenty of people. I knew if someone were to ask me how I did, and I knew someone would, I didn't want to tell them that I dropped out."

As for returning next year, Fashola says she can't wait.
