And They're Off!

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

Bethany Jacob, Diane Bockrath, Ashley Waters and Paulette Moore send this year’s undergraduate admissions responses on their way. Acceptance letters went out last week to high-school students from 47 states and 39 countries, not counting the United States and Puerto Rico. The top five states represented are, in order, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, California and Pennsylvania. With a target number for the incoming class of 1,045--up from 1,000 in previous years--the university admitted 35 percent of the almost 9,000 students who applied. Roughly one-third of next year’s class will be comprised of students who were admitted previously under early admissions.
