Business Clothing Drive -- Donate gently used professional clothing to men and women entering or re-entering the job market through YWCA’s Job Training and Professional Development Programs. YWCA business clothing drives are organized several times a year by the Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs. Donations of business and business-casual clothing and shoes in good condition will be collected on Friday, April 5, from several Hopkins locations.

Living With Grief Teleconference -- “Living with Grief: Loss in Later Life” is the topic of a live-via-satellite video teleconference sponsored by the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Department of Patient and Family Services, and the Hospice Foundation of America. The teleconference will examine the needs and barriers faced by an aging population and explore ways that professionals can more effectively assist those coping with the range of losses in later.

New Deadline for Villa Spelman Graduate Fellowships -- Applications are invited from graduate students wishing to participate in the Program in Social Theory and Historical Inquiry at the Charles S. Singleton Center for Italian Studies at the Villa Spelman in the fall semester of 2002.

Professor Raymond Westbrook will be convening the seminar on the subject “The Origins of Law.” Students from all departments are welcome to apply, provided they can demonstrate the importance of this seminar for their work and the usefulness of spending a period of residence in Italy for successful completion of the doctorate.

Students should have completed all requirements except for the dissertation by the time they arrive in Florence in September. A limited number of fellowships will be awarded to students without other support. Some travel money is available. Tuition is not covered.

Submit a letter of application along with a brief recommendation from a supervisor to Prof. Westbrook, Near Eastern Studies, 128 Gilman; and Prof. Stephens, director of Villa Spelman, 268 Mergenthaler. Applicants should indicate whether the application is for a Villa fellowship and/or travel support or whether the applicant has funds from his or her own department.

Saturday Financial Education Programs -- The Office of WORKlife Programs and the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FASAP) are sponsoring a series of financial education classes. The classes will be presented by Gail White-Moore, director of training and financial education for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.

All classes will be held on Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon.
