Theatre Hopkins Presents 'Laura'

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

Now who would want to murder this woman? The answer can be found at Theatre Hopkins, which continues its 76th season with Laura, a stage version of the 1944 film noir classic with Gene Tierney in the title role. The production of this suspenseful murder mystery will open at 8 p.m. this Friday and run five weekends through Sunday, March 17, at the Merrick Barn on the Homewood campus.

While investigating the murder of a glamorous young woman, a detective becomes fascinated by her portrait. Soon everyone is a suspect. Originally a novel by Vera Caspary, this adaptation of Laura was written by Caspary and George Sklar.

Curtain times for Friday and Saturday performances are 8 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2:15 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for Friday, $15 for Saturday and Sunday. Student rush tickets for $5 are available at curtain time for all performances. For reservations, or more information, contact 410-516-7159 or thehop@jhu.edu.
