The university has launched a new United Way of Central Maryland campaign Web site, adding multimedia resources and online pledging through a secure server. In addition, Johns Hopkins Medicine has launched its own multimedia site.
Along with the campaign progress thermometer, the university's site, found at www.jhu.edu/unitedway, offers three campaign videos and seven slide shows with statistics on every county in the region. An informational section connects to United Way of Central Maryland's agency directory and other United Way programs.
A new interactive online pledge form is available for university and hospital employees who want to pledge by payroll deduction or credit card.
A special events section includes a slide show and photos from the Day of Caring on Sept. 11, 2002, as well as information on the university campaign lottery, whose grand prize is a Dell laptop computer.
WINGS, a new initiative to encourage donations by women, offers volunteer opportunities and agency tours.
For campaign coordinators and solicitors, a special page offers downloadable templates for campaign communications, and for other employees, a contact page has links to each division's coordinator. The university's site also charts campaign progress by division for the university, Johns Hopkins Medicine and APL.
JHM's site, at www.hopkinsmedicine.org/unitedway, features United Way success stories, a progress thermometer and a campaign video. Also, it links to the progress charts, pledge form and other features on the university's site. Both sites include answers to frequently asked questions.
