Life After Hopkins: ROTC Announces Branch Selections

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

Twenty-two seniors from the Hopkins Army ROTC program received their Army branch assignments on a long-awaited day just before spring break. Branch assignments are based on student preference and the needs of the Army.

Among the news heard that day was that biophysics major Michael "Aaron" Moak, near left, will serve as a Military Intelligence officer after an initial assignment as an Infantry officer, Marc Hohman was selected for a medical school delay, and Sumesh Sagar was selected to attend pharmacy school. Civil engineering major Erin Sadownik, below, will complete a master's degree next year and serve in the Engineer Corps. And neuroscience major Neil Prakash, far left, will serve in the Transportation Corps after an initial assignment as an Armor officer--an assignment so well-received that he celebrated by knocking out about 100 push-ups. Looking on is ROTC history instructor Capt. Lee Mudd.

A complete list of branch assignments can be found at the ROTC Web site www.jhu.edu/~rotc/.
