And They're Off!

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

The journey from high school to Homewood began for the class of 2007 as the Office of Undergraduate Admissions staff carted its admissions responses to the campus post office on March 31.

Acceptance letters went out to students from all 50 states and more than 30 countries. The top five states represented were, in order, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, California and Pennsylvania.

With a target number of 1,050 for the incoming class, the university admitted just under 30 percent of the record number 10,021 students who applied. Roughly one-third of next year's class will be comprised of students who were admitted previously under early decision.
