Biz Systems Project Gets Named

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

And then there was one, Hopkins-One to be exact. The Johns Hopkins University and Health System have unveiled the name and logo for the proposed software-based computer system--previously known as the Enterprise Business Systems project--that will effectively tie together and streamline selected Johns Hopkins business functions, including purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, grants management, general ledger, materials management and human resources.

HopkinsOne, an integrated Web-based system, will replace a hodgepodge of aging financial and administrative systems that are considered unnecessarily cumbersome and not cost-efficient. Johns Hopkins plans to select a vendor for HopkinsOne by Jan. 1, 2004. Following the selection, the design and implementation phase will begin. The current schedule is for implementation of the new system to be phased in methodically from 2006 to 2008.
