Elton John Impersonator to Perform at Shriver Hall for Family Weekend

A night of flamboyant costumes, rhinestone-studded sunglasses and crocodile rock awaits when Fantastic: A Tribute to Elton John featuring "Even Stephen" hits Shriver Hall Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, on the Homewood campus.

Billed as one of the best celebrity impersonators in the world, Stephen "Even Stephen" Sorrentino will assume the dress, mannerisms, and piano and vocal styles of Elton John, accompanied by a classic-rock band. The show features special effects and musical adaptations of John's work, including a tribute to Marilyn Monroe during John's well-known song for Monroe, "Candle in the Wind." Other John anthems Sorrentino will cover are "Take Me to the Pilot," "Your Song," "The Bitch is Back" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."

Sorrentino will go through numerous costume changes as John, whom he has been imitating since high school.

The event is co-sponsored by the dean of student life, the Parents Association and the Office of Special Events in celebration of Family Weekend.

Tickets are available in advance at $15 for general admission and senior citizens and $10 for full-time Johns Hopkins students, parents and staff. Any remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the door for an additional $2 per ticket in each category. To order tickets or for information, call the Office of Special Events at 410-516-7157.
