Purchasing Services Unveils Quicker, New Web-based Procurement System

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

The Office of Purchasing Services has unveiled a new Web-based procurement system that affords university staff a quicker, user-friendly and more efficient means of submitting purchase requests.

WebReq, available at https://eprocurement.jhu.edu replaces the REQN system, which will continue to be available for a limited time. Unlike its predecessor, WebReq offers Web browser accessibility, point and click capability, links to frequently used vendors and a help guide. It stores information about users such as name, address and telephone number. Similar information about suppliers and regularly purchased items also may be stored on the system.

Current REQN users do not need to re-apply for WebReq. New users can gain access by filling out required forms available at Financial and Information Technology Training Programs' Web site http://fas.learning.jhu.edu/fitt/welcome.html

For additional information regrading WebReq, contact Kathy Frazier or Nancy Rose of Purchasing Services at 410-516-8383.
