Annual Community Cleanup

All Hopkins employees, faculty, students and their families are invited to join JHHS Community Services, HEBCAC and other local community associations for the ninth annual Community of Caring Community Cleanup from 8:30 to noon on Saturday, May 8. Volunteers will be issued an event T-shirt and all the necessary tools to do the job. Lunch will be supplied at the end of the morning. Spring Cleaning

JHH Meyer 3, an adult inpatient psychiatric unit, is in need of books, magazines, videos, DVDs and puzzles for patient use. Deliver items to the nurses station on Meyer 3; for other arrangements, contact Kim at kjewett1@jhmi.edu or Maureen at maureenritcey@hotmail.com.

 

Overeaters Anonymous

Weekly meetings are held at noon on Wednesdays in 161 Mattin Center. Anyone with overeating or undereating problems is invited. 410-516-7154, 410-516-5554, www.oa.org.

 

Medical Spanish Open House

Medical Spanish will hold an open house on the East Baltimore campus from 2 to 4 p.m., Monday, May 17. www.jhu.edu/esl.

 

First Hopkins Six Flags Day

Saturday, June 12, will be the first Johns Hopkins Day at Six Flags America. Admission tickets to the park, which include all rides, are on sale for the discounted rate of $18.30 per person through the Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs.

University faculty, staff, students, retirees and alumni, as well as employees and retirees of other Johns Hopkins entities, are eligible to purchase tickets for themselves and their families and guests. The park is open from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Parking coupons are available for the discounted rate of $6 per vehicle, and food vouchers can be purchased for the discounted rate of $7.35 per meal.

To order admission tickets, parking coupons and food vouchers, send a check or money order by U.S. mail, payable to JHU Six Flags Day, for the desired number of admission tickets, parking coupons, and food vouchers to JHU Six Flags Day, 4545 N. Charles St., 3rd floor, Baltimore, MD 21210-2601. Include the following information: your full name and Johns Hopkins affiliation, address where you would like the tickets mailed, daytime phone number or e-mail address, number of admission tickets, number of parking vouchers and number of meal vouchers.

No tickets will be reserved without payment. Do not use campus mail; allow sufficient time for ticket delivery by normal mail.

To purchase tickets in person at the Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs, you must call Jacklyn Coe, 410-516-6060, to make arrangements. The office is located approximately 2 miles north of Homewood campus at the Evergreen House, 4545 N. Charles St., just north of Loyola University. Parking is free. Cash, checks or money orders are accepted for in-person orders. The office does not have the ability to accept credit cards for ticket purchases.
