Maryland honors its Nobel laureate
In a whirlwind visit, Peter Agre is recognized by Governor, Senate, House

The kudos keep coming for Johns Hopkins' latest Nobel Prize winner, Peter Agre, who on March 5 received recognition for his scientific achievement from the state of Maryland in the form of a Governor's Citation, a Senate Resolution and a House Resolution.

School of Public Health challenges its own to improve quality of life
Good health often starts with healthy behaviors. In December, Alfred Sommer, dean of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Behavior and Health Planning Committee challenged faculty, staff and students to come up with the most practical ways to change the behavior of the school community. The winners of the Behavior and Health Challenge were announced last week.

New imaging technique developed at JHMI to identify breast cancer
Researchers at Johns Hopkins have for the first time used a chemical marker detected by proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging, or MRSI, to successfully diagnose breast cancer. The diagnostic technique produces pictures of choline within breast tumors.
