The Johns Hopkins Diversity Leadership Council is
seeking nominations for its Diversity Recognition Award,
which honors exceptional contributions of faculty, staff
and students in advancing and celebrating diversity and
inclusiveness at Johns Hopkins.
Men and women from all divisions of the university and
health system are eligible with the exception of current
members of the council. Individuals may nominate themselves
or be nominated by any Johns Hopkins community member. The
nomination should include a description of the nominee's
commitment to the advancement of diversity, inclusion
and/or multiculturalism as demonstrated by specific efforts
and accomplishments above and beyond his or her regular job
description.
The submission must include the nomination form,
available at www.jhu.edu /dlc/dlcaward.html and
a supporting document of two double-spaced pages or less
that describes how the individual meets the criteria for
the award. It should include specific examples of how the
nominee's efforts and accomplishments convey an
appreciation for diversity, inclusion and/or
multiculturalism and add to efforts to promote a more
diverse, inclusive and supportive environment for all
members of the Johns Hopkins community. All nominees should
be informed before forms are submitted.
The deadline for receipt of nominations is Friday,
March 19. A selection panel will review all nominations and
recommend award recipients to President William R. Brody.
The recognition ceremony and reception will be held from 4
to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.
