A Chili Day at Homewood

and Bake-Off benefit for the
United Way,
held Nov. 29 at Homewood. More than 200 faculty, staff and
students showed up to mingle, munch and cheer on their
personal picks.
Thomas Langston, Military Science Department ROTC;
Sherry Buckles, Annual Fund Office; and Nestor Torres,
Information Technology, won first, second and third places,
respectively, for their chili, while Jean Pugh, Whiting
School of Engineering; Buckles; and Kenette Brueggeman,
Center for Talented Youth, took first, second and third
places for their baked goods. First-place winners were
awarded gift certificates for free hotel stays and
dinners.
With the end of the United Way campaign approaching,
faculty and staff are reminded that it is not too late to
