BFSA 10th Anniversary Celebration

The Black Faculty and Staff Association will celebrate 10 years on the Johns Hopkins campuses at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of African American History and Culture. The evening will include hors d'oeuvres, a dinner buffet, cash bar and live entertainment.

Tickets are $35 for members and guests, $50 for non-members and $20 for JHU students. For tickets and more information, call 410-516-6050.

 

Proposals for Diversity Conference

The Diversity Leadership Council's second annual Diversity Conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 1, and proposals for discussion subjects are now being sought. During the event, administrators, faculty and staff will examine critical questions related to diversity, cultural awareness, inclusion and equity in postsecondary education.

Possible topic areas include recruiting and retaining diverse faculty, creating an inclusive environment, the multigenereational workplace and leadership development.

Proposals must be submitted before Sept. 15. For information about proposal packets and the conference schedule, contact Nicole Beverly, conference coordinator, at diversityconference@jhu.edu. More information about the DLC is available at www.jhu.edu/~dlc.

 

Ballroom Dance Workshop

The Johns Hopkins Ballroom Dance Club is offering a Tuesday evening Latin dance workshop at the beginner to intermediate level with professional Latin dance specialist Laurie Anderson.

The 12-week class meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 13 in the Great Hall/Glass Pavilion, Homewood campus. The entire session costs $95 per person, $180 per couple.

Introduction to Clinical Research Course

The Bayview Medical Center/General Clinical Research Center will be offering the course Introduction to Clinical Research in three sessions scheduled for Sept. 12 to 15, Sept. 19 to 22 and Sept. 26 to 28. Cost for the course is $50.
