Diversity Recognition Awards Announced
The Diversity
Leadership Council has announced the recipients of this
year's Diversity Recognition Awards, which honor faculty,
staff and students for their efforts to foster greater
appreciation, advancement and celebration of diversity and
inclusiveness at JHU.
The 2005 honorees are Fannie Gaston-Johansson,
professor and director of international and extramural
affairs, School of Nursing; Sonia Ryang, associate
professor of anthropology, Arts and Sciences; Stacey Brown,
senior academic program coordinator, SPSBE; Darryl Carr,
stage manager, Peabody Conservatory; Linda Dorsey,
technical editor, APL; Sharon Kugler, university chaplain,
Campus Ministries; Nadia Sawaya, project manager,
International Education and Outreach, JHHS; the Web
Accessibility Committee, comprised of Teal Anderson, Gordon
Dean, Cynthia York and Deborah Savage; and the founders of
the Multicultural Student Alliance, Frances Atkinson, Jose
Carreon and Vladimir Diaz.
President William R. Brody will present the awards at
a reception and ceremony from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday,
May 3, in Homewood's Shriver Hall Auditorium. The JHU
community is encouraged to attend.
