School Supply Drive

The Black Faculty and Staff Association is sponsoring a drive to collect school supplies for an East Baltimore school. Drop off supplies from Aug. 8 to 31 in E3003, E6152 and W1600, East Baltimore campus; 130 Garland, Homewood campus; and B219 at Eastern. Focus Group Participants Needed

The Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union has contracted Baltimore Research to conduct a focus group of Johns Hopkins employees who are NOT currently members of JHFCU. Participants will earn $100 cash. ESL Courses

The Language Teaching Center’s English as a Second Language Program is now enrolling for the fall term to begin Sept. 8 at the Homewood campus. Open to anyone interested in improving their English skills, courses include Oral Communication (at the intermediate and advanced levels), Reading and Writing English and English for Oral Proficiency Tests. Introduction to Clinical Research Course

The Bayview Medical Center/ General Clinical Research Center will be offering the course Introduction to Clinical Research. The course consists of 11 onehour lectures, in three concurrent sessions scheduled for 8 to 9 a.m. on Sept. 12 to 15, Sept. 19 to 22 and Sept. 26 to 28. Cost for the course is $50. The Host Family Program, managed by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Baltimore Alumni Chapter’s Host Family Committee, welcomes incoming JHU students and eases their adjustment to a new environment.
