Homewood Area Steps Up Street Parking Restrictions

Johns Hopkins has been informed that the communities surrounding the Homewood campus will be tightening their street parking restrictions, including expanding residential parking permit areas, in order to deter nonresident parking. As part of this effort, which is necessitated by a shortage of parking for neighborhood residents, the areas will be initiating a more aggressive parking enforcement program.

The affected neighborhoods are Charles Village, Greenway, Abell, Remington, Wyman Park, Tuscany Canterbury and Oakenshawe.

The university encourages its affected affiliates (those who are not entitled to legal on-street parking) to consider using Johns Hopkins parking facilities and/or mass transit.

University lots are served by regular free shuttle service to and from all Johns Hopkins campuses in Baltimore City and are reasonably priced, starting at $30 a month at the Ellerslie lot. All are monitored by security personnel.

For more information about JHU options, go to www.jhu.edu/parking.

Should you have any questions regarding parking matters, contact Greg Smith, manager of transportation and parking, at gregsmith@jhu.edu or 410-516-8371.
