Colloquia

When Jay VanRensselaer wanted to give the 10 students in his three-credit Introduction to Photography class some experience in front of the camera as well as behind it, he conceived a portrait-taking exercise that made them subjects as well as photographers. 'I hope it will lead to a bigger project of photographing more and capturing a wider range of people,' he says. The first result, VanRensselaer's compilation of their work titled 'Photo Booth #1,' is part of the Faculty Exhibition on view now through Monday, Dec. 11, on the second floor of the Mattin Center's F. Ross Jones Building, Homewood campus. Striking a pose, from the left: Sarah Doyle, Dilveer "DV" Vahali, Ayomide "Ayo" Okusanya, Marcos Perez, Kristin Brill, VanRensselaer, Sunny Sahajwani, Tiffany Eaton, Emily Yoon, Kaming "Gordon" Ngai and Sarah Krellenstein.
