Fiesta! SPH Celebrates Staff Service Southwestern-Style
Strands of chili-red beads and big sombreros were
handed out to Bloomberg School of Public Health staff as
they walked into the Wolfe Street Building's Feinstone Hall
on June 14, preparing all for a lively and festive service
recognition ceremony for employees celebrating five, 10 and
15 years with the school.
The event, always a festive occasion thanks to the
work of Cindy Haebler, the school's departing associate
director for administration, honored the contributions of
159 staff members — 95 marking five, 39 with 10 and
25 with 15 years of service.
In between bites of spicy Mexican fare and sips of
limeade, the honorees picked up their awards from the
school's leadership. Those on hand included Dean Michael
Klag; Herb Hansen, senior associate dean for finance and
administration; and Cherita Hobbs, the school's director of
human resources.
Those with five years of service received a pewter
pendant key ring with the Johns Hopkins seal; those with
10, a lead crystal paperweight with the Johns Hopkins logo;
and 15-year honorees, a cherry wood clock with the Johns
Hopkins logo.
