Mayor's Book Drive

Promote learning and literacy in Baltimore by donating new or gently used books to the Mayor's Book Drive for City Schools. The books will go to both classrooms and libraries. Donation boxes are located at the front desk of Levering Hall and in the Student Activities Office, Mattin Center. Certificate in Nonprofit Studies

The Institute for Policy Studies is accepting applications and course registration for its summer classes in the Certificate in Nonprofit Studies Program. Summer courses are offered on the Washington and Homewood campuses. This part-time program is designed to develop and enhance the knowledge and practical skills needed by nonprofit staff and volunteers to run successful organizations.

The certificate courses may be applied toward a nonprofit concentration in the Hopkins MBA and/or MS/ODSHR degrees. Classes begin in June. For more information, call 410-516-5389 or e-mail cwessner@jhu.edu.

 

Undergraduate Research Symposium

Applications are due March 24 for students wanting to present their independent research in an all-day symposium on Saturday, April 8, in the Bloomberg Center for Physics and Astronomy, Homewood campus. Projects can span all disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, engineering and biological sciences. The event's keynote speaker is Solomon Snyder, University Distinguished Service Professor of Neuroscience, Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences, and Psychiatry, and 2005 recipient of the National Medal of Science. Career Development Spring Courses

The Career Management Program has added two new courses to its spring program: Developing Winning Resumes: Which Type Is Right for You? and Developing a Portfolio/Effective Interviewing Skills. AAALAC Site Visit

The Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International site visit will take place March 20-24. All animal facilities and laboratories at East Baltimore, Bayview and Homewood will be visited, and a knowledgeable individual should be available to speak with the visitors.
