Flute and Harp Duo Opens 54th Evergreen Concert Series
on Friday
The Evergreen Concert Series — one of
Baltimore's longest-running chamber music programs —
opens its 54th season on Friday, Oct. 20, with flute and
harp duo David Fedele and Victoria Drake.
The performance, to be held at 8 p.m. in the Bakst
Theatre at Evergreen House, will feature music by Handel,
C.P.E. Bach, Debussy, Bartok, de Falla, Jongen and
Persichetti. Tickets are $15 for Evergreen members, $20 for
nonmembers. Due to limited seating, reservations are
recommended. Advance tickets are available online at
www.missiontix.com
or by calling 410-516-0341.
Since 1952, the museum's concert series has presented
more than 200 performances by renowned musicians and
outstanding emerging artists in Evergreen's intimate
theater, designed by avant-garde Russian-born artist Leon
Bakst, and in its 1870s Carriage House. Audiences mingle
with performers at a post-concert reception and enjoy a
shared experience they won't find anywhere else.
Funded in large part by the Evergreen House
Foundation, the chamber music program continues former
owner Alice Warder Garrett's legacy of supporting musicians
and inviting audiences to interact with them.
Other concerts this season include the Jupiter String
Quartet on Nov. 10; Adaskin String Trio with Thomas
Gallant, oboe, on March 23; and cellist Matt Haimovitz on
April 27. Complete concert information is available online
