How to Sign Up for RSS Feeds at JHU

The university's Office of Communications and Public Affairs has launched its first RSS news syndication feeds. RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a way to sign up for information and announcements on topics that interest you without having to subscribe to an e-mail list.

As new content becomes available, RSS users automatically receive it. The university has begun its RSS effort with a few topic feeds, including Headlines@Hopkins, Homewood News, emergency announcements and calendar and events information. For more about these offerings and to learn how to sign up, go to www.jhu.edu/news_info/news/rss.

"We're very interested in hearing how this is received and used by faculty, students and staff — or anyone really interested in Johns Hopkins," said Dennis O'Shea, executive director of Communications and Public Affairs. "Depending on user feedback, we may add more content channels in the future."

To register your comments, write to dgips@jhu.edu with "RSS feeds" in the subject line.

RSS feeds are also offered by the schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health. For information on those, go to webapps.jhu.edu/jhuniverse/news_and_publications/ rss_feeds.
