Colloquia

'The Turkey Alibi', a romantic comedy for the 'suicidally challenged' directed by recent Johns Hopkins alum Ruthie Aslan, will be one of the many screen treats served up for the eighth annual Johns Hopkins Film Festival, which runs from Thursday to Sunday. Roman Polanski's 1966 film 'Cul-de-Sac', an absurdist black comedy, will kick off the student-run festival, the original and ongoing mission of which is to provide a forum for feature-length and short films that the public wouldn't otherwise likely see. This year's event includes a diverse collection of old, new and rarely seen documentaries, features and short films. Alum Wes Craven will be on hand, too. Screenings are held in venues on the Homewood campus, including Shriver Hall, home of the largest screen in Maryland. For more information and a complete listing of screenings, go to www.hopkinsfilmfest.com.
