Intersession Instructors

Instructors are needed to teach a wide variety of intersession courses, including music, art and dance. The 2007 Intersession Personal Enrichment Program is scheduled for Jan. 3 to Jan. 19.

To pick up an application, visit the Student Development and Programming Office, 210 Mattin Center, or call 410-516-2224. Applications are due Wednesday, Nov. 8.

 

Workshop on GenBank and Related Databases

The National Center for Biotechnology Information presents "A Field Guide to GenBank and NCBI Molecular Biology Resources," a lecture and hands-on computer workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Sponsored by the Welch Medical Library, the course is designed for principal investigators, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and advanced undergraduate students, and others in the life sciences who work with biological sequence data. Both experienced and novice users of NCBI's tools and resources will benefit.

On Tuesday, from noon to 3 p.m., Peter Cooper, of NCBI/NLM, will give a lecture in West Lecture Hall of the Wood Basic Science Building. On Wednesday, he will lead a two-hour workshop, which will be given three times during the day, beginning at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., in room 320 of the Anne M. Pinkard Building (SoN). Anyone wanting to attend a workshop should register for one of these sessions by sending an e-mail to iwema@jhu.edu.
