Tai Chi Lessons/Practice at Homewood

Tai chi lessons and practice sessions will be held this summer in the Homewood campus's modern, air-conditioned Mattin Center Dance Studio, located at the corner of 33rd and Charles streets. The program has been expanded to four half-hour sessions, all of which are free to Johns Hopkins students, faculty and staff. The four sessions will take place between 6 and 8 p.m. on Mondays only from July 16 to Aug. 20.

Session 1, 6 to 6:30 p.m., free instruction in beginning tai chi form (Yang-style, short form), intended primarily for those who are new to tai chi. Session 2, 6:30 to 7 p.m., group practice of Yang- style, short form. Session 3, 7 to 7:30 p.m., continued practice of Yang-style, short form, individually or in groups. Session 4, 7:30 to 8 p.m., is an open practice.

Interested individuals can take part in any or all sessions. Those new to tai chi are encouraged to attend the first session. No street shoes, please.
