Fall Blood Drives

The American Red Cross is in need of replenishing area blood supplies depleted by higher demand and lower donations in the summer. Shortages of certain blood types can delay critically needed treatment for premature infants, trauma victims and chronically ill patients undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy.

Blood donations given during this month's Johns Hopkins blood drives can help ensure an adequate supply and guarantee prompt care for those in need. Participants will receive a free T-shirt and can enter a raffle. For updated eligibility guidelines, go to www.my-redcross.org.

The Homewood campus drive is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 19 and 20, in Levering's Glass Pavilion. Appointments are recommended. Register online at www.jhu.edu/outreach/blooddrive.

For more information, contact John Black at jblack1@jhu.edu or call 410-516-0138.

The East Baltimore drive will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 25 and 26, in Turner Concourse. To schedule an appointment or obtain more information, e-mail johnshopkinsblooddrive @jhmi.edu or call Wanda Cartwright at 410-735-4963.

Tickets for End-of-Summer Fun

The Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs is still offering discounted tickets for Anheuser-Busch Theme Parks, B & O Railroad Museum, Caesar's Pocono Resorts, Hershey Park, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Universal Studios and more. Professional Clothing Drive

Wednesday, Oct. 17, is the final drop-off day for the university's professional clothing drive scheduled for Oct. 18. Employees can help disadvantaged men and women succeed in the work place by donating new or gently used professional clothing. A list of drop-off sites can be found at www.jhu.edu/hr/fsrp/clothing.html.

For information about the drive, contact Sondra Ponzi at sponzi1@jhu.edu or call 410-516-0338.
