Office of Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Programs
Renamed
In keeping with the university's commitment to equity
and inclusion, Provost Steven Knapp announced last week
that the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action
Programs has been renamed the Office of Institutional
Equity.
In addition, the titles of three senior staff members
have been changed. Ray Gillian, who directs the office, is
now vice provost for institutional equity. Peggy Hayeslip
is director, ADA compliance and disability services, and
Caroline Laguerre-Brown is director, equity and compliance.
Knapp said that these changes reflect the role, scope
and actual functions of the office, as well as the
importance of these professionals.
