The Center for a
Livable Future in the
Bloomberg School of Public Health has awarded eight
pre-doctoral fellowships for 2007-2008. The awards, in amounts up
to $50,000, are given to Johns
Hopkins students who are committed to the discovery and
application of knowledge about the
environmental, economic, social and health impacts of industrial
animal production and practices in the
United States or abroad. The grants may be used for tuition,
stipend and research expenses. The CLF
Predoctoral Fellowship Program, now in its fifth year, is made
possible by a generous donor.
This year's recipients are Carmen Arriola and Edward
Broughton, both in International
Health; Julia DeBruicker, Health, Behavior and Society;
Kristen Gibson, Yayi Guo, Sharon Nappier and D'Ann
Williams, all in Environmental
Health Sciences; and Amy Peterson,
Epidemiology.
