Tracey Reeves, a former reporter and editor at The
Washington Post, has been appointed
director of News and Information at
The Johns Hopkins University.
Reeves will be responsible for media relations for the
university's central administration and
Homewood campus and for disseminating news about Johns
Hopkins through nontraditional media and
other means. She reports to Dennis O'Shea, executive
director of
Communications and Public Affairs.
Reeves had been with the The Post since 1999,
serving as a staff writer, chief of the Anne
Arundel and Prince George's bureaus and, since 2007,
assistant Maryland editor. Previously, she was a
national and regional reporter for Knight-Ridder Newspapers
and a reporter for The Providence (R.I.)
Journal and New Bedford (Mass.)
Standard-Times.
She has been a Casey Journalism Center Fellow and a
Knight Center for Specialized Journalism
Fellow and, as a Knight-Ridder reporter, shared in the 1998
Pulitzer Prize for public service awarded to the Grand
Forks (N.D.) Herald.
Reeves is a 1985 graduate of Illinois State
University.
