The 56th season of Evergreen Museum & Library's Music
at Evergreen concert series concludes
with the Amedeo Modigliani Quartet at 3 p.m. on Saturday,
March 7. Formed in 2003 at the Paris
Conservatory, this young string ensemble has stunned
audiences around the world playing with what
The New York Times described as "Gallic cool."
The program includes Franz Josef Haydn's Quartet in B
major, Op. 76., No. 4 (Sunrise); Felix
Mendelssohn's Quartet in A minor, Op. 13; and Maurice
Ravel's Quartet in F major.
A gallery talk focusing on two paintings by Amedeo
Modigliani (1884-1920) in the Evergreen
Museum & Library collection will be offered at 2 p.m. The
concert is followed by a meet-the-artists
reception.
Praised by France's Le Progres for its "stunning
technical expertise, outstanding ensemble and a
particularly accomplished musical identity," the Amedeo
Modigliani Quartet won the 2006 Young
Concert Artists International Auditions in New York and the
2005 Young Concert Artists European
Auditions in Paris.
The performance will be held in Evergreen's Bakst
Theatre. Tickets, which are $20, $15 for
members and $10 for students with valid ID, include
admission to the museum and gallery talk. Seating
is limited; advance tickets are available at
www.missiontix.com or by calling 410-516-0341 (handling
