Lawrence Summers, Dominique Strauss-Kahn Keynote SAIS Event

The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and the Center for Global Development will hold a two-day conference, "New Ideas in Development After the Financial Crisis," on Wednesday and Thursday, April 22 and 23.

Lawrence Summers, director of the White House's National Economic Council and assistant to the president for economic policy, will give Wednesday's keynote address at 5 p.m. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, will give Thursday's keynote address at 1:30 p.m. Experts from international organizations, academia, research institutions and government will speak on both days. Among them are Bernard L. Schwartz, chairman of BLS Investments, and Nancy Birdsall, president of the Center for Global Development. The conference, to be held in the Nitze Building's Kenney Auditorium, is hosted by the Bernard L. Schwartz Forum on Constructive Capitalism at SAIS and the CGD. Non-SAIS affiliates should RSVP using the conference Web site.
