Families can learn how to stay safe at the East Baltimore Safety Day, Saturday, May 2, which features a whole day of activities. The School of Medicine's Physicians for Social Responsibility are holding their annual Teddy Bears for Guns event at two locations: from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 407 N. Caroline St. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 808 N. Charles St.

A Crime Prevention Fair will take place at St. Wenceslaus Lyceum, 2100 Ashland Ave. The day will come to a close with the Eastside Gospelfest at Dunbar High School. Tickets are a $5 donation.

The 11th annual HERO AIDSWALK Maryland 98, the largest HIV/AIDS fund-raiser in Maryland, will begin at Garland Field on the Homewood campus on Sunday, June 7, at 9 a.m.

HERO AIDSWALK Maryland 98, will donate a minimum of 10 percent of the net proceeds from the walk to other AIDS service organizations in the state. People can take part individually, as teams and as business sponsors. For more information, call the AIDSWALK information line at 410-685-1230.

The graduate exhibition of the 1998 graduating class of the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine will be held from Thursday, May 7, through Thursday, May 22, on the ground level of the Turner-Ross concourse at the School of Medicine.

The annual exhibition is the culmination of an intensive two-year study in medical visual communication. Artwork will highlight the various mediums, techniques and artistic styles utilized in creating medical and biological illustration.

Planning for Results: A Practical Approach to Project and Workload Management is a seminar designed to teach managers how to clarify project priorities, manage project costs, complete a project, plan and organize meetings, delegate effectively and practice effective teamwork.

The Johns Hopkins Choral Society will hold its annual spring concert on Tuesday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m., in the University Baptist Church. The society will perform the Faure Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine. Admission is free.

The Johns Hopkins Competitive Tennis Team is looking for individuals to join the summer doubles tennis league. In order to raise money to run in the Dublin Marathon for the Arthritis Foundation, Sharon Hall, of Maternal and hild Health in the School of Public Health, is selling Joe Corbi pizzas as well as accepting donations. Frank Hall will be running in the marathon in honor of Sharon, who has rheumatoid arthritis.

The pizzas will be on sale until May 12, and delivery is anticipated for May 15. In addition, donations of any amount can be made payable to the Arthritis Foundation and be sent to Sharon Hall, 198 Hampton House, 624 N. Broadway, Baltimore, Md. 21205. Contributions are tax-deductible.

The Johns Hopkins University Summer Camp program offers five one-week sessions at the Homewood campus. The camp runs from June 15 to July 17 and is intended for children 5 to 12.
