Candlelight Illuminates King's Work and Teaching

More than two dozen students braved a cold and rainy night
last Wednesday to participate in a candlelight vigil to
commemorate the life and teachings of the Rev. Martin Luther King
Jr. The event was sponsored by the Sigma Sigma chapter of Alpha
Phi Alpha fraternity as part of Black History Month celebrations.
The students met in front of Shriver Hall on the Homewood
campus, read sections from Dr. King's book Testament of Hope,
sang songs and marched with candles in hand to the Black Student
Union. There, they observed a moment of silence and then watched
the documentary film "I Have a Dream."
