Security Alert


     Homewood: A Hopkins graduate student reports that as he was
unlocking his bicycle from a parking meter located on the roadway
on the east side of the New Engineering Building at 12:01 a.m. on
Sept. 15, he was approached by two males. One male asked to
borrow the bike and the other displayed a knife and proceeded to
take the graduate student's wallet and money from his pockets.
Both then fled with the victim's bicycle down the walkway
alongside the Baltimore Museum of Art's Sculpture Garden, where
the student lost sight of them. He was not injured.

     The student described his assailants as black males, both
about 27 years old; one was 5 feet 10 inches, thin build, thin
face, thin mustache, very short hair, wearing dark short-sleeve
shirt and dark, baggy knee-length trousers. He was armed with a
knife, which had a rusty six-inch blade. The other male was
described as 5 feet 8 inches, 180 pounds, round faced with very
short hair, wearing a dark T-shirt and denim shorts.
