AMR III Building B

The suites in AMR III Building B offer either single or double occupancy rooms and shared bath (suite style). With the exception of the handicap equipped suites, there is a suite door and a bedroom door that separate the residents from the hallway.

These buildings are climate controlled, which means they are maintained at a consistent temperature all year long, between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Portable AC and heating units are not allowed - no exceptions. The AMR II Housing Office is conveniently located on the premises. Students coming home to AMR III Building B from the library can simply walk 3 minutes to their residence halls.

AMR III Building B is locked 24 hours a day. Students gain access via their J-Card or white access card and their room key. Guests are escorted and signed in by residents. The building has a common kitchen equipped with a stove, sink, refrigerator, and a microwave oven in the basement of the building. Students have the option to purchase a dining dollar plan for their use throughout the summer. Please note, cooking is prohibited in a student's room; however, each room is equipped with a compact microwave and fridge, so please plan accordingly. Some appliances are permitted in our residence halls; however they must be equipped with an automatic shut off and must not contain an external heating element. Pots, pans, utensils, and baking equipment can be signed out for short-term use through your Summer RA.

How To Apply

Summer Housing applications will be made available as of April 1, 2014. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received, however, please note that in the event that space becomes limited, priority will be given to full-time JHU undergraduate students and to those students who will need Summer Housing on a long-term basis. Students will be charged a minimum of one week. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required with each application, made payable to Johns Hopkins University by check or money order only. This deposit will be applied towards your final housing/dining total. Should you cancel your Summer Housing application, the deposit will not be refunded.

An assignment will not be finalized until both the application and deposit are received. Students can enroll at any time prior to Friday, July 18th, 2014, however we require a minimum of 3 business days notice to complete an assignment. Once an assignment is complete, you will receive a housing contract and notice of your remaining balance for the summer. The remaining balance is to be paid at time of enrollment. The balance may be paid with a check or money order only.

IMPORTANT: Visiting students are required to show official documentation of affiliation with the Johns Hopkins University or the Hospital in order to reside in Summer Housing. If you complete the online application, remember to fax or mail your letter of affiliation.

Once an assignment is complete, a contract will be sent to you, and you will be given a deadline to return it.  Payment in full is due at the time your contract is returned. Rent must be paid by check or money order only, payable to Johns Hopkins University. Cash and credit cards will not be accepted.
